The full poem as written on the piece, is my inspiration. "Say Yes to the world, Yes to listening, Yes to kindness... Yes to life, to the stars and to love..." etc., is a translated poem originally in French that was painted on a window I passed on a street in France. I have always told my kids to be brave, take risks, and "the answer is almost always Yes," so this poem spoke directly to me. I felt inspired to create a large-scale work that appears abstract at a distance, but on closer inspection, is this motivating message of hope and finding beauty in life - and when in doubt, to "Say Yes."
